When my mirror speaks it never minces words

I really didn't know how much potions equipment I've collected over the last few years. It all just seemed pretty useful, and I put it here and there.

Now most of it's set up on the counter and stove.

Shit, now I can't use my kitchen. Unless I want to make coffee in a Florence flask. Which I could I guess.

Why did I waste two hours doing this, then?!

Pah, I just finished moving into my new house. Took a bit longer than I expected, there was still some paperwork I had to do but I'm finally here!!! I got done getting all my stuff in order. This place is so huge compared to my apartment, and even with all my books and records and shit it's still really empty!

They took pretty much everything for auction, the house is totally bare. I even had to hang up a sheet for the bedroom window because they took the curtains! :) But before they hauled everything away I took a few pictures of the house and the surrounding area. It's about a quarter-mile outside the nearest town, even. The outbuilding is completely broken down, it's damned creepy!

I can't afford furniture right now cos of the cost of moving and everything. Mum says I should go around Muggle neighborhoods before trash pickup, and it's starting to sound like a good idea. I've got most of what I need right now, though, and the weather here's been mad. Just wind and rain all the time. I suppose that's living by the sea for you!

So I went to meet with the solicitor and when I came to the house some people I'd seen at the will reading (her kids and such) were there as well. We discussed the inheritance and all in all I think it went pretty well but I can see why Aunt Sophie didn't leave them anything because they were all weedy types. Short of it, I think it worked out fine and by the end they got most of the money and investments and things but they gave me a few thousand Galleons for my parents and they let me have the house!

The solicitor recommended I sell it, but it was paid off ages ago and...well, I like it. It's on the coast, right outside of Aldeburgh if you know where that is and I've never owned a house and it's, you know, a grown-up thing it'd be kind of neat? Heck of a lot nicer than Shoreditch, and it's even got a proper fireplace. They're moving all her stuff out of it over the weekend, so I'll see about it then?

Oh my god.

I didn't even know I had an Aunt Sophie, I didn't know there was a branch of my family called Baxton, and I didn't know I had any rich relatives, especially not ones in Suffolk, and I didn't...this is mad.

I'm talking with her solicitor tomorrow. Does this mean I'm rich?

Ah, another year alone. But I've got a project this year. I've got three boxes of chocolate, Guinness, my cousin let me borrow his copy of D&D.

I'm going to make it fun.

I just woke up today and finally got to check my journal, and it seems I've missed so much! I'll be getting back to everyone today as soon as I can.

It's good to be awake and such, but the Healer says they're going to run a few unnecessary tests on me before they let me go. I can't wait to be back!

So I get someone's face in my fireplace at 5am this morning, telling me that my little brother's in the hospital with severe wounds due to spell damage, how soon could I be over there?

Here I am.

As far as how he's doing right now, they say they should be able to fix up the curse wounds within a few days, but they aren't sure how long it will take him to come out of shock. If I have it right, he's essentially been hit by a lorry made of Cruciatus curses.

Does anyone know exactly what happened to him? So far I've learned that there was a brawl in Chester last night, but no one seems to know who he fought or why he was even there or anything really. When I find 'em...

Me and Dad are trying to trick the hospital staff into letting Mum in, she's gone absolutely mental, but I suppose that doesn't really matter to you lot.

If you came to visit, I'm not really sure if he'd be cognoscente enough to appreciate it though why you'd want to see him now I have no idea but we can tell him later and I'm sure he'd wet himself in gratitude or something.

So I was up late last night and I heard from Mr. Dodge that after the Ministry attack and the attack on that Muggle town they've taken Moony I couldn't believe it but it's true!

They've not even given him a trial or nothing, just thrown him in Azkaban not even a holding cell they have those at the Ministry don't they?

HOW COULD THEY? I THOUGHT THERE WERE LAWS!!! Mr Dodge says Moony is bloody lucky they didn't kill him Moony just living in that town is reason enough! Lucky! That he got thrown in Azkaban! It's mad is what it is!!

Isn't there some way we could vouch for him? Me and Prongs and Padfoot? We were with him that night in the woods by Padfoot's house. Couldn't we lie about being Animagi and just say we were under protective charms? He wasn't even in Winchelsea we know it!
